
Pharma sector provides more jobs in Telangana: KTR
Hyderabad: The Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences sector was becoming in the state with the 35 % of the Pharmaceuticals production in the country and 1/3rd of the vaccines for the Global market coming from the state, said I.T Minister KTR, speaking at the Bio-Asia 2020 meet on Monday in Hyderabad.
In his speech the Minister said the Telangana state Government will setup an institution for curative therapies. Particularly the Government focused on Cellular and Gene therapies in partnership with the city based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB). The combined enterprise value is to the tune of $ 50 Billion, he said. He also said that we are working to combine the technology with the pharmaceuticals and life sciences sectors.
There will be jobs created in a decade in Hyderabad. With the inauguration of Songene International Limited in Genome Valley, it has shown that Hyderabad is a hub and there are many companies attracted to the city and state. The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine is also setting up a unit for data analytics, he said. With over 2, 000 delegates there will be major brainstorming for the change in disease patterns and the newer treatment in the focus of the summit. The State Government already setup a medical device park near Shamshabad in an extent of 20 acres, already 20 companies started setting up units for the manufacture, he said.
