Protestors Seek Written Assurance on Citizenship to end Protest

New Delhi: The Anti-CAA protestors of Shaheen Bagh are expressed their readiness to with draw their protest, if the BJP government gives a assurance on their written affidavit on Rs. 10/- bond. The Shaheen Bagh Dadis are staging protest since 75 days.

They want to sought the BJP government at the centre that a Rs. 10/- self attested affidavit, supported by one or two witnesses would guarantee that their citizenship is not snatched away. Soon after some TV news channels started scroll that sec 144 crPC barring assembly of More than three people, was imposed in Shaheen Bagh.

A large number of people mainly women came out of the homes to join the Anti-CAA protestors. Despite living inconsistent fear of violence and apprehension that they can be removed forcibly at any time, protestors made it clear that they have resolved not to re-treat.

Earlier roll back CAA are guarantees us, that in the absence of any document like voter identity card, Aadhar or passport, even a self attested affidavit on Rs. 10/- stamp paper, duly signed by one or two witnesses, will be enough to prove our citizenship, said a protestor. For this proposal, hundred and more people at protest site shouted in unison “Haa Bilkul Yeh Manzoor Hein”.

The protestors want a clear assurance that their citizenship would not be snatched. People are scared as many people donot have any document to even prove their Date of Birth. All that the government should now do is to assure us that a self attested affidavit would be enough to prove our Indian citizenship.
