
SC lawyers visited Shaheen Bagh protesters as mediators
New Delhi: The Supreme Court appointed mediators Sanjay Hedge and Sadhana Ramachandran met the Shaheen Bagh protesters against CAA on Wednesday. The Supreme Court appointed these two lawyers to negotiate with the protesters and resolve the problem caused blockade of roads to the common people.
The two lawyers visited the Shaheen Bagh protesters at the protesting centre, and asked them about their problems and their wishes to solve. The lawyers also told them, if they want to continue the protests sits, the venue will shift to another place not cause inconvenient to the people. They also said that the Court recognized their protest is a fundamental right but they suggested the protester can reopen and commuters do not face problems. But there are lines and boundaries… if everyone starts blocking roads, where will people go?
Sadhana Ramachandran told to the protesters the Supreme Court has upheld your right to protest. We will listen to everyone. We would come up with such a solution that it would become an example for the world. The mediators have been asked the protesting women for a dialogue away from the media, the women, however, want it to take place in presence of the reporters.
