
Shirdi bandh called off: Uddhav calls meet
Shirdi: The locals Shirdi bandh call on Sunday ended peacefully and the locals withdrawn Shirdi bandh on the call of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The Shirdi people took a bandh on Sunday on the contradictory announcement of Uddhav Thackeray on the announcement of the birth place Sai Baba is Pathri in Parbhani district.
The Government also sanctioned Rs. 100 crores for the development of Pathri. The Maharashtra Government sent Minister Chhagan Bhujbal to negotiate with the Shirdi people and the temple trustees to resolve the agitation on Sunday. The Bhujbal’s negotiation with the Shirdi temple were fruitful, the Government invited the Shirdi MLA and CEO of Shirdi Sai temple and the MLA of Pathri for the discussions on Monday in Mumbai.
The protest of the Shirdi locals, Shirdi remain shut on Sunday. Shops and hotels, restaurants also shutted and vehicles remained off road. The Sai Baba temple remained opened throughout day without any report of devotees facing any inconvenience. Meanwhile, residents of Shirdi warned that if the meeting with Chief Minister fails brings any satisfactory solution, an aggressive protest will be launched. The former trustee of the temple Kailash Kote said that about 500 locals were present at the Gram Sabha.
