Telangana High Court banned selling and bursting fire crackers in the State

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court issued orders a complete ban on selling and bursting fire crackers this Diwali and told to the State Government to ensure that all shops selling fire crackers are closed immediately across the state.

The bench comprised of Chief Justice R.S. Chauhan and Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy also asked the Government to appeal to the people to avoid bursting crackers. Seven States and one UT have banned bursting and sale of fire crackers this year. The crackers banned states are Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Chandigarh and Haryana. Besides, on November 9th the Nation Green Tribunal banned bursting fire crackers in all urban areas which had seen poor air quality in November last year.

On hearing a pill filed by an advocate P. Indira Prakash, the bench said that the State could not afford any activity that worsens air quality during the pandemic.
