KCR laid foundation stones for Secretariat and Assembly

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandra Sekhar Rao laid the foundation stones for new Secretariat and Assembly buildings on Thursday in separate functions.

  KCR first laid the foundation stone for the new Secretariat in the small garden behind D Block in the existing secretariat premises at 10.49 a.m. He dig the ground with crowbar as priests chanted hymes and offered prayers. He placed some concrete into the pits and the priests placed some granite blocks making the formal laying of the foundation stone. Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and ministers, MLAs, MLCs, Chief Advisor to the Government Rajiv Sharma, TRS working President KTR and the party General Secretary K. Keshava Rao attended the occasion.

  After laying stone at Secretariat, KCR drove to Erramanzil near Panjagutta and laid foundation stone for the Assembly complex at 12.04 p.m. The integral Legislative complex will house the Legislative Assembly and Council, a central hall on the lines of the one in Parliament house with several modern facilities. Assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Vice- Chairman of the Legislative Council N. Vidyasagar, ministers, MLAs, MLCs and several other elected representatives were present at the function.
