Hyderabad: A senior officer of Indian Information Service 1989 batch S. Venkateshwar took charge as Director General of the Telangana state region of the Press Information Bureau.

  Venkateshwar will head the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) of the Ministry. The ROB has been formed clubbing three media units of the Ministry – Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Directorate of Field Publicity and the Song and Drama Division. Venkateshwar will look after the department of Publications Division. The PIB office in Hyderabad also functions as the Registrar of Newspapers for India. He had worked in Doordarshan, AIR and Press Information Bureau, Bengaluru.
