Hyderabad: The TRS sweeped the civic body chief polls in Telangana. The ruling TRS won 109 Municipal Chairmans out of 120 Municipalities, and also won all 10 Municipal Corporation.

The opposition parties Congress won 4, BJP and MIM won each 2 Municipalities. The State Election Commission postponed the election of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson in Medchal Municipality due to lack Quorum. In Nereducherla Municipality voting will be held on January 28^th, because the controversy rose the voting by Congress Rajya Sabha member K.V. Ramachandra Rao’s vote as an ex-officio member.

The TRS absolute majority to form Councils in 82 Municipalities and five Municipal Corporations the Congress in 8 and BJP in 3 Municipalities. The ruling party grabbed two Municipalities from Congress and one Municipality from BJP using its ex-officio vote i.e. MPs, MLAs and MLCs.  In other 31 bodies including Nizamabad, Boduppal, Ramagundam, Meerpet and Bandgpet Municipal Corporations the TRS won with the support of rebels, Independent and MIM.
