Vijayawada: A truck driver has been found to have spread of Covid- 19 to 24 people in Krishna Lanka area of Vijayawada city. A +ve Covid- 19 truck driver who played Rummy and Tambola with his neighbours has caused the spread of virus.

Health and Revenue officials, who are baffled a 24 +Ve cases in Krishna Lanka, held a detailed investigation on the source of the viral spread and zeroed in on the truck driver. This is the second incident of a game being responsible for the spread of Covid-19 in Telugu States. Earlier a woman spread the disease in her area after playing a modified version of snakes and ladders games (Ashtachama) with neighbours in Suryapet in Telangana State, after returning here from Kurnool.

Officials shifted the truck driver to hospital and declared Krishna Lanka as a containment zone. According to the official sources, the area is declared as a red zone already and all locals are under the scanner. VMC authorities urged the locals to confine themselves to their houses.
