RTC Workers Strike on 44th Day: Police Blocked Road with Barricades and Barbed Wires
Hyderabad: The TSRTC workers strike on 44th day, the Hyderabad city main roads were blocked by police with barricades and barbed wires. Amids the two JAC leaders Ashvathama Reddy and Raji Reddy’s indefinite fast at their residences, the solidarity to the RTC workers of MRPS Maha Deeksha at Dharna Chowk at Indira Park on Sunday caused troubles to the commuters and the nearby residence.
The police completely closed the road from Vidya Nagar cross roads to Indira Park main road and surrounding by lanes also. The police put steal barricades on the roads.. Vidya Nagar chowrasta, Ram Nagar Chowrasta, VST, RTC MD office, RTC Cross roads, Ashok Nagar cross roads, Indira Park cross road, and the Domalguda road.
The police also arrested MRPS founder Manda Krishna in Habsiguda on Sunday.
Due to the RTC strike, the commuters in the city who are attending offices, schools and colleges and their livelihood are facing many inconveniences to reach their offices. The private cabs and autos, sharing autos and other private transport vehicles robbing the commuters since 44 days. The private vehicles, autos demanding the commuters thrible and four times of the normal fare from 09:00am to 01:00pm and evening 04:00pm to 09:00pm.
The governments and the TSRTC workers egos are not solving the strike. The JAC declared that they are going to intensify the strike to resolve their demands. The government also stubborn its word on privatization of the RTC. The tussle between government and the RTC workers throw the commuters in financial crises. Each commuter every day expending nearly Rs. 100 to 150 /- for their conveyance as against the minimum of Rs. 20 to 30/-.
