
Jagan launched YSR Jaganna Swachcha Sankalpam – Clean Andhra Pradesh program
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched YSR Jaganna Swachcha Sankalpam – Clean Andhra Pradesh program to ensure cleanliness in rural and urban areas in the State on Saturday at Vijayawada.
This program is organized for hundred days in the State with the partnership of Sarpanches, Municipal &Municipal Corporations and public representatives in their respective areas to keep the premises clean and Swachcha.

AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy flagged off 4, 097 vehicles for garbage collection at Vijayawada on Saturday on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. 23K Green Ambassadors will collect 13,500 tonnes of their daily waste in rural areas. 14K tricycles were distributed to gram panchayats for garbage collection. 10,645 solid waste management sheds were disposed of to eliminate garbage. These sheds separate the waste and make biogas and vermi compost fertilizer from the wet waste.
Reusable items are recycled into dry waste. The waste is transported to power plants. There by creating wealth from garbage. 10,628 thermal fogging machines distributed for mosquito control in rural areas. Distribution of 1.2 crore dust bins at the rate of 3 per household for wet, dry and hazardous waste collection in cities and towns.
Wet, dry garbage and hazardous waste collected from each household is transported to 231 Garbage Transfer Stations by 5,868 GPS based Garbage Tippers.
Wet and dry waste from these stations is transported by separate vehicles to integrated solid waste management projects. Government is going to impose user charges from 50 paise to Rs.1 per day per house in villages and in towns, user charges range from just Rs 1 to Rs 4 per day per household,
