Polavaram: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the irrigation officials to complete the first phase of Polavaram project by May2020. He will provide all assistance to complete the project.

            Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy visited first Polavaram dam on Thursday in the status of Chief Minister. He conducted three times aerial survey of Polavaram project area. Later he walked in the project area and he visited spill way, spill channel, upper copper dam, earth cum rock fill dam, diaphragm wall and the lower copper dam works. He asked the progress of the works with the Irrigation Special Principal Secretary Aditya Nath Das, ENC. M. Venkateshwar Rao and CE Sridhar. He expressed his dissatisfaction on the ongoing works and he suggested for the experts committee auditing on the works. The ENC explained the Chief Minister about the works completed in Polavaram project in detail. According to the ENC the projects head works completed 58.19%, left branch canal 69.33%, right canal 91.64%, total projects works completed 66.77%. The A.P CM Y.S. Jagan asked the work status categorically before 2014 to 2019 and he discussed item wise project works.  He also directed the officials to complete rehabilitation works of 113 villages which comes under the Contoor of 41.15 meters of the first phase of dam.
