Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress President Bala Saheb Thorat elected as the Legislative party of the Congress. Mallikarjuna Kharge, AICC General Secretary In-Charge of Maharashtra announced Thorat’s name at a meeting of party MLAs held at a hotel in Mumbai.

   The Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi approved the name of Thorat as the CLP leader of Maharashtra, said Kharge to the MLAs. Thorat is the senior MLA in the Maharashtra Assembly, who was elected eight times as MLA. He is a trusted aide to Sonia and Rahul.
