Unanimously Patole elected as Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly
Mumbai: Senior Congress leader Nana Patole was unanimously elected as the Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly on Sunday. He was a former conclusion as the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government.
The BJP had withdrawn its candidate Kisan Kathore who filed the nomination for the post of Speaker against the Patole. The Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and some senior MLAs escorted Mr. Patole to the Speaker’s Chair. Uddhav Thackeray and Fadnavis praised Patole’s work as legislator and farmers leader.
Speaking on the occasion the newly elected Speaker Patole said that he would continue to work for farmers and down trodden people in society. He also said that in his political career, he also given the highest priority to the welfare of farmers. He said that as a Speaker his goal will be to protect farmers interest and provide relief to the deprived section of the society.
