Chandra Babu taken into preventive custody
Vijayawada: The TDP Supremo Chandra Babu along with several party leaders took into preventive custody by Andhra Pradesh police at Benz Circle in Vijayawada at 9.30 pm on Wednesday.
High tension prevailed here on Wednesday while Chandra Babu and his team were proceeding to flag off state wide Bus Yatra by the members of Amaravathi JAC. Just as they were about to start journey police reached there and stopped the buses, not to move without permission. The police stopped Chandra Babu at Benz Circle on his way and did not permit to move further. When the police stopped him, he wanted to take up a Pada Yatra from Benz Circle to Autonagar. The police did not permit him to do so upset by this he squatted on the NH-16 and started raising slogans against police.
The police brought a van and asked Chandra Babu and his team to get into it. However the key of the police van was found missing for some time and this resulted in delay in shifting them out of the busy junction. Chandra Babu described the police action as unconstitutional. He also said he had never seen a Chief Minister like Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was trying to suppress the Democratic rights of the people.
Amaravathi JAC members arranged Bus Yatra against the YSRCP Government’s move to relocate capital.
