New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi’s 41st death anniversary will observe on 31st October at Shakti Sthal in New Delhi. Smt. Indira Gandhi was shot dead by her gunmen at her residence on 31st October, 1984.
 Congress leaders observe her death anniversary every year at Shakti Sthal and pays floral tributes to her. She sacrificed her life for the unity of the country. As a Prime Minister, she took several daring steps in internal and external affairs. That’s why she is called as “Iron Lady of India”. After congress losing power in 2014 at the centre, her death anniversary celebrations are not observing officially.

But, the ruling BJP is celebrating birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, 1st Home Minister of India every year on October 31st in Ekta Nagar, Narmada district, Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to him every year since 2014. Patel’s birth anniversary is celebrating as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).
