Visakhapatnam: More than ten passengers dead in a bus accident, which plunged into a gorge near Rajugarimetta turn in the wee hours on Friday. The bus departed from Bhadrachalam after the darshan at the temple on Thursday night.

The pilgrims are coming from Chittoor in a private travel bus on 6^th of December to visit temple in the State. The bus proceeding from Bhadrachalam to Araku, they want to visit Annavaram in the midst of the journey. The bus accident occurred at the Chinturu–Maredumilli ghat road due to bus driver lost control over the bus.

The bus carrying with 37 passengers including two drivers. According to initial information more than ten people have died on the spot. Several others sustained injuries and are being shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.

The driver is suspected to have lost control of the vehicle before it veered off the road and fell into the gorge. Police personnel and local residents rushed to the spot after receiving information and launched rescue operations in the darkness and difficult terrain.
