The world’s first vaccine “pEVAC-PS” was designed with the help of AI has been successful in the initial stage of clinical trails
Hyderabad: The world’s first vaccine “pEVAC-PS” was designed with the help of AI has been successful in the initial stage of human experiments in clinical trials. The vaccine developed with the help of AI is called as “pEVAC-PS”.
The scientists created vaccine with the help of AI technology and it has created another milestone in the field of medicine. According to the Cambridge University researchers this is a key development towards effectively dealing with future pandemics.
This new vaccine was tested on 39 healthy people in the first phase. Scientists revealed that the vaccine was completely safe in these experiments and there were no serious side effects in the volunteers. A ‘super-antigen’ that prepares the immune system to fight all variants of the corona virus family has been developed through AI. It works by targeting key parts of the virus’s genome that have not changed.
Professor Jonathan Heaney who is the head of the scientists said that this new approach works to block viruses before they spread. He expressed hope that it could also effectively block new types of viruses that infect humans from animals.
The results of this research were published in the prestigious “Journal of Infection”. Phase II experiments are currently being conducted with more than 200 volunteers. In the future, the possibility of using this technology to prepare vaccines for other deadly viruses such as flu and Ebola is being considered.
