We are ready to jointly develop and produce the fifth-generation stealth fighter jet Sukhoi-57 with India: Putin
New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they are ready to jointly develop and produce the fifth-generation stealth fighter jet Sukhoi-57 with India.
He made these comments while talking to representatives of International News Organizations on Thursday night. He made a key proposal to further strengthen the defense partnership with India. He made it clear that there will be no restrictions on the transfer of the entire technology related to this fighter jet.
I think the SU-57 is the best fighter jet available today. We have proposed to our Indian friends to jointly develop this fifth-generation aircraft. Russia is ready to work together in this regard, there will be no restrictions on this, he explained.
Currently, India is developing the fifth-generation fighter jet Advanced Multirole Combat Aircraft (AMCA) with indigenous knowledge as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat program. However, this project is not likely to be fully available until 2035. In this context, the Indian Government is planning to purchase two squadrons (about 36) of SU-57 aircraft for interim requirements.
