Hyderabad: The police lathi charged on ABVP students who staged protests, gathered to laysiege to the Assembly on Wednesday as part of an “ABVP Chalo Assembly” protest. In police lathi charge several students injured.

The students staged laysieged Assembly protest against TRS Government’s meager allocation of funds for education in the State Budget. Many members of the RSS affiliated students converged at the Assembly’s gate-3, which is normally used by the media persons covering the session by10.30 am and raised slogans against the TRS Government. They demanded the Government to increase budgetary allocations for the education sector, and clear all dues of fee reimbursement of students.

They were also demanding appoint of full to VCs to all universities in Telangana. After raising slogans the students tried to scale the gate, in an attempt to control the situation, the police lathi charged the students. The police lathi charged on the students and some students were taken into preventive custody. According to the police 180 students were taken into preventive custody and booked cases against 40 members who reached the gate.
