
India is ninth worst hit Covid-19 country in the world
New Delhi: India stood in the ninth place, the increase in number of Covid- 19 cases crossed 168000. According to the Health Ministry sources the death toll due to Covid- 19 rose to 4706 in the country, while the number of case climbed to 165799 registering an increase of 175 deaths and a record jump of 7, 466 since Thursday 8 am.
According to Worlddometer, Indian has now overtaken Turkey as the ninth worst hit country in terms of total number of cases. The active Covid- 19 cases in the country stood at 89, 987, while 71, 105 people have recovered and one patient has migrated, the total confirmed cases include foreigners, said Ministry. Of the total 4, 706 fatalities, Maharashtra tops the tally with 982 deaths followed by Gujarat with 960, Madhya Pradesh with 321, Delhi 316, West Bengal 295, Uttar Pradesh 197, Rajasthan 180, Tamil Nadu 145, Telangana 67 and Andhra Pradesh 59 deaths.
The death toll reached 47 in Karnataka and 40 in Punjab, 27 in J & K, Haryana 19, and Bihar 15 while Odisha and Kerala have reported seven deaths each. Himachal Pradesh 5, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh and Assam have recorded four deaths each sofar.
