AP New Sand Policy from July 1st: P. Rama Chandra Reddy

Amaravathi: The AP Government is going to bring a new sand policy from July 1st onwards, said AP Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and mining departments minister P. Rama Chandra Reddy.

           Speaking to the media in secretariat on Tuesday, he said that the government issued orders to stop the transport of sand with immediate effect i.e., 11th June, 2019. There is no sand transport until the permission of new sand policy in the state, he said. The decisions of a Former Chief Minister on sand policy, the state loss heavy revenue, he added. He also alleged that the TDP leaders looted crores of rupees by illegal sand transport.          The government is going to book cases on PD act on the sand smugglers. The government will take action on the officers if the sand is smuggled, he added. He also alleged that sand ramps decreased from202 to 116, he said.
