BJP Won With 1470 Votes Majority in Dubbaka Constituency

Hyderabad: BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao won in bye-election with a margin of 1470 votes in Dubbaka constituency in Telangana. The TRS candidate Solipeta Sujatha gave a tight fight to the BJP. The BJP candidate got lead upto ten rounds from 11th round to 20th rounds of counting Solipeta Sujatha continued the lead than the BJP opponent.

But the last four rounds the BJP unimagined came into lead over the TRS candidate and got a mere majority of 1470 votes and won in the bye-election. BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao secured 62,772 votes and TRS candidate S Sujatha got 61,302 votes. Congress candidate Ch Srinivas Reddy got just 21,819 votes.

This is the first ever defeat for the TRS in a bye-election after the 2014 polls. The TRS had been winning all the bye-elections either to the Lok Sabha or the Assembly with thumping majorities. Moreover, the defeat of the TRS was registered in the native district of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Gajwel Assembly segment which was represented by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was also in Siddipet district.

BJP state president Bandi Sanjay said on the victory, that it was a mandate given by the people against the TRS’ family rule. TRS working president and Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao said, that “the outcome of the poll was not on expected lines. We will review the verdict and script our future strategies,” pointing out those leaders and workers too had to make introspection over the defeat of the party.

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay said the BJP’s victory is the beginning of the end of the tyrannical rule of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
