Lockdown Extended in Delhi Till June 7, Ease Restrictions in Manufacturing and Construction Fields

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unlocked some sections from June 1st onwards in Delhi and extended the lockdown till June 7. The Delhi government announced on Saturday, allowed manufacturing and construction fields to resume work with conditions.

The government instructed the companies, will need to follow the Covid-19 precautions strictly and stagger shifts. The government also directed the company authorities to conduct Covid-19 tests randomly to the workers.

According to the Delhi health department sources on Covid-19 in Delhi recorded 956 new cases on Saturday; this is the lowest record in over two months. The Covid-19 positivity rate fell to 1.19 percent from a high of 36 percent in March.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that about 900 cases in a day have emerged after a long time and “I hope that as and when the cases decrease in the upcoming weeks, we will continue to unlock further. We want the economic activities to come back on track so that the economy can be revived”.
