Pooja Rani won Gold Medal in Asian Boxing Championship – 2021: Mary Kom and Lalbuatsaihi won Silver Medals

Dubai: Indian Boxer Pooja Rani (75kg) won a gold medal in the final match against Mavluda Movlonova of Uzbekistan at Asian Boxing Championship – 2021 in Dubai on Sunday. Pooja Rani won the Asian Boxing Championship for the second consecutive time. Pooja Rani received prize money of $ 10, 000 in Asian Boxing Championship – 2021.

Indian Boxer M C Mary Kom (51Kg) won Silver Media at the Asian Boxing Championship – 2021. Another Indian boxer Lalbuatsaihi (64kg) who is making debut in boxing won Silver Medal after she lost both final bouts.

Lalbuatsaihi lost 2-3 against Kazakh rival Milana Safronova. Mary Kom and Lalbuatsaihi Both won the prize money of $ 5, 000 each. Lalbuatsaihi came into the Indian team as a late replacement for the seasoned Pwilao Basumatary, whose passport had expired.

In Men’s finals at Asian Boxing Championship – 2021, Amit Panghal (52kg), Shiva Thapa (64kg) and Sanjeet (91kg) will fight for Gold Medal on Monday. Simranjit Kaur (60kg), Vikas Krishan (69kg), Lovlina Borgohain (69kg), Jaismine (57kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (64kg), Monika (48kg), Saweety (81kg) and Varinder Singh (60kg) won Bronze Medals after losing their matches in semi-final. They also got prize money of $ 2, 500 each for finishing third.
