
Modi dedicated abrogation of Article 370 to Sardar Vallabhai Patel
Ahmadabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that J & K’s Re-organization is a historic and a tribute to Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birthday anniversary. Modi paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Kevadaya in Gujarat on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s 144th birthday anniversary on Thursday.
He defended the abrogation of Article 370 by saying that the Special Status Provisions generated terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. He also said that the new system in J & K and Ladakh is not meant to draw a line on the land but to build a strong link of trust. As J & K which has been part of the Union of India since its accession in to it in 1947 seized to be a state and formally bifurcated into two U.T’s. Two IAS officers Girish Chandra Murmur and Radha Krishna Mathur were on Thursday Sworn-in- as Lieutenant Governors of J & K and Ladakh respectively. The BJP organized a Unity rally in New Delhi on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhai Patel 144th birthday anniversary. Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressing a gathering in New Delhi said that the Article 370 and Article 35A were the gateways of terrorism into Jammu and Kashmir. Modi closed the gateway by abrogating them, he added.
