19 passengers died and several passengers injured in a collusion of TGRTC bus and tipper at Mirzaguda in Chevella mandal, Rangareddy district
Hyderabad: 19 passengers died and several passengers injured in a collusion of TGRTC bus and tipper on Monday at Mirzaguda in Chevella mandal, Rangareddy district.
As per the sources, TGSRTC bus leaves from Tandur depot to Hyderabad in the Tuesday early morning 4.30 am. The bus carrying 70 passengers, suddenly a tipper with small stone chips rammed into the bus at Mirzaguda. The tipper came in the opposite direction of the bus and hit directly to the bus driver and rammed into the bus.
The passengers who are sitting in the seats behind the driver are died by pouring the small stone chips on them. The police and the Revenue officers came to the spot immediately and taken rescue operation of the passengers. The police got three JCBs to clear the stone chips which fell on the passenger in the bus.
The bus driver Dastagiri also died in the accident. Ten women passengers, seven male passengers and one child died in the accident, said the police. The police shifted the injured passengers to the hospital for treatment.
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy directed the DGP and CS to provide all necessary assistance to the passengers who are injured in the accident. He also directed the officials to provide better treatment by creating a special ward at Gandhi and Osmania hospital to the bus accident victims. He expressed profound grief to the deceased family members. And also announce an exgratia of Rs. 7 lakhs to the deceased family members and Rs. 2 lakhs to the seriously injured persons. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar immediately rushed to the accident spot and observing the rescue operations.
PM Narendra Modi also expressed profound grief on the accident. He announced exgratia of Rs. 2 lakhs to the deceased family members and Rs. 50K to the injured person from the PM assistance fund.
