Chandrababu Naidu announced an exgratia of Rs. 25 Lakhs for the Tirupati stampede victims

Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced an exgratia of Rs. 25 Lakhs to the deceased person and Rs. 5 Lakhs to the serious injured persons, Rs. 2 Lakhs to the injured persons in the stampede at Tirupati on Wednesday at 8.30 pm.

Six devotees died in a stampede at Tirupati while TTD issuing tokens to the devotees on Wednesday to visit Lord Venkateswara on the auspious day of Vaikunta Ekadasi on Friday. The TTD officials announced 1.20 tokens for three days to the devotees in nine counters at Tirupati and one counter at Tirumala.

The TTD is celebrating Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam for ten days from Friday onwards. The people from A.P, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country gathered at the token issuing centres on Wednesday morning onwards. All of a sudden the TTD officials open the g gates at the token issuing centres, the devotees thronged at once caused for the stampede at Bairagipatteda, Vishnu Nivasam, Srinivasam and MGM School.

In this stampede six devotees died and more than 60 injured. The TTD officials shifted them the injured to RUYA & SWIMS Hospitals for treatment.

A.P CM Chandrababu Naidu visited the spot at Tirupati on Thursday and enquired about the incident. He found fault of the officials who are on the ground level at the token issuing centre for not taking proper measures. He suspended DSP Ramana Kumar and Goshala Director Harshavardhan Reddy. He also suspended Tirupati SP Subbarayudu, TTD J.E.O and TTD Vigilance Officer for their negligence in their duty.

Later, he visited the RUYA & SWIMS Hospitals and consoled the injured persons. He also announced the one contract job for the bereaved family members.
