Narsipatnam: Former CM YS Jagan accused that CM Chandrababu is selling poor people to private players in the name of privatizing the Government medical colleges in the State. Hospitals are the ancient temples to the people, he added.
YS Jagan opposing the Government’s decision of the privatization the Government medical colleges under PPP model. He visited the Narsipatnam medical college which is under construction on Thursday to prove the allegations made by the AP Speaker and local MLA C Ayyanna Patrudu is false. Ayyanna Patrudu previously said that there is no Government medical college in Narsipatnam, there is any GO in the name of Government medical hospital; if it is correct show me the GO.
YS Jagan after visiting the Narsipatnam medical college on Thursday, he speaking to the media persons said that in his regime as a CM he has accord permissions for 17 medical colleges, out of them five colleges were completed and started classes in the academic year 2023-24. Two more medical colleges were started in the academic year 2024-25.
Remaining ten medical colleges are under construction in various stages. In Narsipatnam, the medical college is under construction in an extent of 52 acres of land. Along this 600 bedded super multi-specialty hospital also under construction. He got sanctions in his period from 2019-2024. He estimated the cost of 17 medical colleges of Rs. 8K crores. In his regime he also spent Rs. 3K crores for the medical colleges, the remaining 5K crores has to spent to complete the construction of medical colleges.
But, the coalition TDP Government decided to privatize the medical colleges. The Government has not spend a single pie on the under construction medical colleges. The Government is saying there is no money for the construction of medical colleges, he said. The Government is spending thousands of crores at Amaravathi building constructions. I also entered a tie-up with NABARD and Central Government special assistance funds to complete the medical colleges, said YS Jagan.
The Government intentionally stopped the construction of the medical colleges to go for privatization to their aides. He asked Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu from the medical college premises that being in a constitutional post as a Speaker, by knowing all facts about the medical college, how you are saying lies.
YS Jagan’s convoy reached Narsipatnam medical college at about 5 pm from Vizag airport via NAD cross road, Gopalapuram, Pendurthi cross road, Sujatha Nagar, Tallapalem cross road. It took 5 hours to reach the Narsipatnam medical college. On the way he met Vizag Steel plant Union members, sugar factory employees, farmers and fishermen’s of 12 villages against the cement factory etc., and received representation from them.
