Gujarat Assembly first phase elections started on Thursday

New Delhi: First phase of Gujarat State Assembly elections voting started today. 89 Assembly constituencies is going to poll today including 19 districts of Kutch and Saurashtra region and the Southern part of Gujarat. The second phase of polling will be held on December 5th. The counting of votes is scheduled for December 8th.

The ruling party BJP is facing tough fight with AAP, but the Congress fall behind the two parties in the State elections. BJP targeting to score 140 Assembly seats in the elections out of 182 seats. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah monitoring the situation.

AAP Chief Aravind Kejriwal took the elections prestigious, to capture the Gujarat in his party’s account by winning over the ruling BJP.  He has predicted that AAP which failed to open account in the 2018 elections in Gujarat will win 92 seats, 8 of them in Surat alone. The AAP chief, who is banking on the party’s governance model in Delhi with its focus on education and health, has written off the Congress, saying it is nowhere.
