New Delhi: The Indian tri – services conducted “Operation Sindoor” precision strikes at nine places at 1:44 am on Wednesday on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and POK in response to the Pahalgam attack. The strikes were conducted five places in POK and four in Pakistan’s Punjab Province. Prime Minister Narendra Modi constantly monitored the operation.
Indian Army, Navy and Air force conducted “Operation Sindoor” to struck bases bases in Pakistan and PoK from where terrorist attacks were being planned and directed. Nine sites were targeted in the overnight precision strikes under the codename “Operation Sindoor”.
India in a statement said that, our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution. We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held responsible.
As per the Sources the action was part of Phase 1 of India’s response to the Pahalgam attack, and more would follow based on Pakistan’s retaliation. In retaliation, Pakistan resorted to cross-border firing and artillery shelling at Indian villages along the LOC, killing three innocent civilians.
India struck sites in Kotli, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Chak Amru, Bhimber, Gulpur, Sialkot and two sites in Muzaffarabad, said Pakistan’s DG ISPR, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary. Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Chak Amru and Muridke are located across the international border and the rest across the LOC in PoK.
Muridke is the headquarters of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is run by Hafiz Saeed, and Bahalwapur in Pakistan’s Punjab province is the base of Jaish-e-Mohammad, an outfit run by Masood Azhar.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said, Pakistan has every right to respond forcefully to this act of war imposed by India, and a forceful response is being given.
India did not mention the name of the sites it targeted during ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in his twitter said that “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. Minutes after India announced that it conducted the strikes.
