Vijayawada: The journalist unions, public forums, associations staged a protest rally against the police harassment on Sakshi media & TV throughout the AP.

The AP police issued notices to Sakshi editor R Dhanunjaya Reddy for publishing the spurious liquor case news in the Sakshi newspaper. Police entered into the Sakshi office three times in three days continuously by forcing the editor to reveal the source of information of that news. It is against the code of conduct of the journalism and also there are many judgments also safeguarding the rights of journalists.

The police are trying to frighten the Sakshi media journalists, not to write any public interest news against the Government or its policies. The police are filing illegal cases against the Sakshi media journalists since one and half year. Sakshi media stands for the sake of public issues and public problems.

The journalists and the public forum activists demonstrated placards showing that stop immediate harassment on journalists, not to strangle the throat of journalists, to lift the cases filed against the Sakshi media.
