Vijayawada: PV Mithun Reddy, Rajampet MP sent for remand till August 1st in alleged liquor scam case on Sunday. The SIT officials produced Mithun Reddy at ACB Court on Sunday after completing medical tests at Government hospital, Vijayawada.

After hearing the arguments of the both sides, the ACB Court Judge remanded Mithun Reddy upto August 1st and sent to Central Jail, Rajamundry.  Mithun Reddy’s legal team urged ACB Court Judge citing Y- category security and requested to provide a house in a special barracks at Nellore or Rajamundry central prison for safety reasons. They also raised concerns about the failure to inform the Lok Sabha Speaker of his arrest, given he has a role as a panel speaker in the Parliament.

SIT prosecution lawyers argued that they need evidence from him and requested his remand to Guntur Sub-Jail. The police escorted Mithun Reddy from ACB Court to Rajamundry Central Jail at 5 pm.
