
Vice-President Elections voting will start at 10 am and it will continue upto 5 pm
New Delhi: Vice-President elections voting will start at 10 am and it will continue upto 5 pm on Tuesday at Flat No. 101, first floor, Parliament Bhavan in New Delhi.
The counting will begin after 6 pm. Today will decided the new Vice-President is from NDA alliance candidate CP Radhakrishnan or INDI alliance candidate Justice B Sudarshan Reddy.
Voting begins at 10 am and will continue till 5 pm. Counting will begin post 6 pm. All MPs, elected or nominated, can vote. They do so in a secret ballot, meaning each can vote as they wish and not along party lines.
BJP gave responsibility to senior Minister to organize and co-ordinate with the MPs from the southern states by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and those MPs from Uttar Pradesh by Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chouhan, Housing Minister ML Khattar, Law Minister Arjun Meghwal, and five others have been assigned guard duties.
The INDI alliance has only 315 votes, except 12 Aam Aadmi Party MPs who may back Justice Reddy. However, even within that 12 there may be discord.
