Vijayawada: Vijayawada excise police arrested on Friday evening A Janardhan Rao, A1 in the Mulakalacheruvu illicit liquor case at Gannavaram airport.

He was fleeing away to Africa, after excise police busted the illicit liquor rocket at Mulakalacheruvu in Annamayya district. The excise police filed a case against 12 members, out of them eight persons has been arrested so far. Main person Jaichandra Reddy and his brother –in-law Giri Reddy also arrested. The excise police ceased the spurious liquor, fake labels, machines and spirit cans, manufactured liquor bottles worth of Rs. 1.75 crores.

There are filing the cases of consumption of spurious liquor across the State. It is learnt that since ten days nearly eight persons died due to the consumption of spurious liquor in the State.
