Guntur: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, AP former Chief Minister’s name was included in the death case of Singaiah during the Palnadu tour, said Guntur SP.

Guntur SP Sateesh Kumar has announced that YS Jagan has been named as an accused in the case. Guntur SP in a press conference at his office on Sunday night said that that the tragic incident occurred on June 18 at the Etukuru Road Bypass in Guntur during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour of the Palnadu.

Guntur SP said that the sections in FIR was amended and a case was now registered under Sections 105 and 49 of the BNS. Singaiah, found critically injured at the roadside, was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had died. Based on a complaint lodged by Singaiah’s wife, an initial case was registered.

He said that after thorough police investigation which included the detailed analysis of CCTV footage, drone camera visuals, and videos recorded by bystanders at the scene. In one of the videos obtained, it is clearly visible that the deceased Singaiah fell under the Fortuner vehicle carrying former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and the vehicle’s tyre ran over him, said Guntur SP.

The case was registered on vehicle driver, Ramana Reddy, former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and individuals believed to be part of the convoy Nageshwar Reddy, Subbareddy, and former ministers Perni Nani and Vidadala Rajini have all been included in the list of accused, he said.

The SP also stated that we granted permission for only 14 vehicles for Jagan’s convoy. However, when the convoy began from Tadepalli, nearly 50 vehicles were involved in the tour. The investigation was ongoing based on the available evidence and that further actions would be taken as per the law, he added.

The incident occurred on June 18 while Jagan Mohan Reddy was en route to unveil a statue in Sattenapalli constituency.

On the day of the incident, authorities had stated based on the available information at the time that Singaiah had fallen under a different private vehicle. Guntur SP on June 18th stated that the vehicle hit Singaiah is not a part of YS Jagan convey vehicle. And also the vehicle is away at the distance of 50 feet from the YS Jagan’s conveyed. This is the private vehicle with bearing registration no. AP 29, 0001.
