Never do injustice to the poor, if we do so we never come back into power: Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that we never do injustice to the poor, if we do so we never come back into power. Speaking on the occasion of Musi Invites program organized by the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited he said that the opposition leaders are afraid that if we do good to the poor, they will not come to power.
He also said that they are trying to take up the development of Musi responsibly. He said that they are taking a step forward after examining every aspect thoroughly with the authorities for two years. He said that the reservoirs built a hundred years ago are still quenching the thirst of the people. He accused some people of trying to obstruct projects like Musi Riverfront.
Revanth Reddy said that Bapughat at the Langar House at the confluence of Musi and Isa will be made a tourist center. They will try to quench the thirst of the people with the waters of Musi and Godavari, he added. He asked how the history of Musi, which has a rich history, will be merged into the depths of time. The projects undertaken by the Congress Government are not against anyone. He asked not to block the projects for political gains.
The work of expanding the metro and roads in the old city is going on at a fast pace, he said. The tanks are being restored in Hyderabad city and the people are also welcoming them. He questioned whether those who are blocking the development of Musi will now be able to live next to the same canal. He challenged such people to provide containers and live there.
If Musi is not cleaned, Nalgonda will be severely affected and future generations will suffer irreparable losses, he said. They are moving forward on the Musi project after considering everything. There are 10,000 families in the Musi catchment area and suggested that the opposition should tell how much each family will be given in the context of the cleanup.
