I will co-operate with the SIT investigation in phone tapping case as a responsible citizen: KCR
Hyderabad: Former CM KCR informed the SIT, he will co-operate the investigation in phone tapping case as a responsible citizen. Due to the municipal election schedule he is unable to appear on January 30th, in probing the phone tapping case.
The SIT, which is probing the phone tapping case, issued a notice to BRS President and former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao asking him to appear before the investigation officers on Friday at 3 pm. The SIT also informed KCR that it would examine him at his convenient place, not necessarily at Jubilee Hills police station.
The police issued the notice to KCR under Section 160 of the CrPC. The allegation is that, during the previous BRS government, around 6,000 phones of judges, politicians, journalists and others were tapped.
KCR informed the SIT to choose another date for probing the case and he invited the SIT officials to take his statement on the issue at his farm house, Erraballi. Under the Section CrPC 160 provides a relaxation to the person who is above 65 years is not necessary to attend the probe at the police station.
