Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar (46) dies due to heart attack

Bengaluru: Kannada Superstar Puneeth Raj Kumar (46) passes away on Friday in Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. While he was doing workouts in gym, he had a cardiac arrest and his family members immediately rushed him to Vikram Hospital. Puneeth’s dead body shifted to Kanteerava Stadium for public visit and his last rites will takes place on Sunday. His elder daughter who is in America is on the way.

Hospital doctors after examining him in the ICU and declared him dead. Puneeth Raj Kumar was the son of legendary actor Raj Kumar. He was known to fans as Appu after the 2002 film in which he played his first lead role as Power Star. Puneeth career started as a child artist when he was just six months old. He was acted in films Premada Kanike and Aarathi in 1976. In addition to Appu, which was a hit and he acted in 29 films as a main actor include Mourya, Arasu, Raam and Anjani Putra.

He was also a singer and was admired for his dance skills. Puneeth made his TV debut in 2012 as presenter of Kannadada Kotyadhipathi, the Kannada version of game show who wants to be a Millionaire? He survived by wife Ashwini Revanth and has two children.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday afternoon in a tweet expressed his grief condolences; I am deeply shocked that Kannada celebrity Shri Puneeth Raj Kumar died of a heart attack. The death of Kannadigar’s favourite actor, Appu, has caused enormous loss to Kannada and Karnataka and I pray that God will have mercy on his soul and give his fans the power to endure this pain.

PM Narendra Modi in a tweet expressed his condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti, a cruel twist of fate has snatched away from us a prolific and talented actor, Puneeth Raj Kumar. This was no age to go. The coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality.

Tollywood, Mollywood, Sandalwood and Bollywood film and political personalities poured condolences on Puneeth’s death.
