Ujjain: Nearly 14 priests were injured at Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple in a fire broke out at the time of Bhasma aarti on Monday in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the official sources the fire occurred during the bhasma aarti inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on the occasion of Holi. Eyewitnesses said the fire broke out while gulaal was being thrown.

The fire broke out during Bhasma aarti in the Garbhagriha. A magisterial probe has been ordered. Their medical treatment is underway, said District collector Neeraj Singh.

The Chief Priest Sanjay Guru and temple staff injured in the fire accident and they were rushed to a nearby hospital. No casualties have been reported.
