
20 dead, several injured after huge explosion at Kabul Mosque
Kabul: More than 20 people were feared dead or injured in a huge explosion occurred in a mosque in Kabul Wednesday evening during prayers, said witnesses and police said. According to the police sources there were multiple casualties but did not say how many. The explosion occurred in a mosque among worshippers in Khair Khana area of Kabul
According to the media sources, one Taliban intelligence official said that as many as 35 people may have been wounded or killed, and the toll could rise further. According to the eye witnesses to the media said that the powerful explosion was heard in a Northern Kabul neighborhood, shattering windows in nearby buildings. Ambulances rushed to the spot.
A blast happened inside a mosque the blast has casualties, but the numbers are not clear yet, said police. The Imam of the mosque was among those killed and the count could still rise. Intelligence teams were at blast site and investigations were ongoing.
