24 migrant workers died in a truck collision in UP

Lucknow: 24 migrant workers died in a truck collide on Saturday at 3 am in Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh. Many migrant workers are injured in the accident; the police and the local people participated in the rescue operations and shifted them to the nearest hospitals.

The UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep condolences on the accident, he directed the officials to provide all medical assistance the injured and provide all necessary facilities to the stranded and the migrant workers, said CMO’s office in a press note. UP Chief Minister also directed the officials to stop the migrant workers who are going to their destinations on foot or any vehicles and provide them the vehicles to return to their destinations on free of cost. He also said any migrant or stranded workers wants to go to their home towns arrange the transport facility to them.

The migrant workers started walking from Rajasthan to their villages; in the middle of the way in Haryana some more migrant workers joined them. This all workers headed to their states Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal in a truck which is carrying wheat bags. The truck collided with another truck near Auraiya district and caused the accident.
