Actor Vijay filed a petition against his parents, other nine persons for misusing his name

Chennai:  Tamil superstar Vijay filed a petition in a Court against his parents, S. Chandrashekhar and Shobha Sekhar, and other nine persons for using his name for political purposes. In the civil suit, he also sought a stay on the conduct of any meetings or activities using his name against 11 respondents, including his parents. The court is likely to hear the matter on September 27th.

The fans of actor Vijay decided to contest the rural local body election in nine districts of Tamil Nadu in the name of Vijay Makkal Mandram. Vijay Makkal Mandram a society registered by actor Vijay’s father and permitted the registered society to Vijay fans to contest elections as independent candidates, the local body elections to be held in Tamil Nadu on October 6th and October 9th.

Vijay had distanced himself from the activities of the Vijay Makkal Mandram. Moving the Madras High Court in January this year, his counsel said that Vijay’s father had registered a political party named All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Mandram, without his consent.
