YS Jagan conveyed thanks to the voters: YSRCP Sweeps ZPTC & MPTC polls in AP

Vijayawada: YSRCP Chief and AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday conveyed his thanks to the voters of AP, who gave a thumping victory in MPTC & ZPTC elections, which held in April – 2021.

The APSEC on Sunday conducted counting of the votes throughout the State with the directions of AP High Court. YSRCP had won nearly 90% of the MPTCs and nearly 99% of the ZPTCs. The elections were conducted on April 8th for 515 ZPTCs and 7,220 MPTCs. The results were originally scheduled to be declared on April 10th.

Upto 7.30 pm on Sunday, the YSRCP had secured 547 ZPTCs out of 553 for which the results were declared. In MPTCs, the count was even more stunning 7,284 seats out of the declared 8,083.

The AP High Court stalled the counting based on petitions filed by the TDP, BJP and others. The YSRCP won up to 74 of the 75 municipalities and nagar panchayats in the state and secured all 12 municipal corporations in the recently held polls. The party credits its dream run to the welfare initiatives undertaken by YSRCP Government. It also cites the continuous efforts towards the welfare of women, backward communities, and minorities as a reason for its electoral success.
