Kabul: The Afghanistan Government said the unknown assailants kidnapped and mistreated Afghanistan ambassador Alikhil’s daughter Silsila Alikhil on Saturday.

According to the Afghan Foreign Ministry statement, ambassador’s daughter Silsila Alikhil was on her way to home the assailants kidnapped her and severely tortured without giving more details of Friday’s abduction in Islamabad.

After being released from the kidnappers’ captivity, she is under medical care at the hospital, the statement added, urging an investigation and protection for Afghan diplomats. Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul was summoned to lodge a formal complaint, the ministry said.

Afghan embassy had informed it Alikhil was assaulted while riding in a rented vehicle, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Police were investigating the disturbing incident and security had been tightened for the ambassador and his family, said the statement.

Pakistan Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted the matter treated as top priority.  Pakistan Government said will caught culprits within 48 hours.
