New Delhi: Congress MPs from Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha staged protest at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Parliament complex on Thursday and raised slogans against the Union Government and the Prime Minister.

AICC former Chief Rahul Gandhi and Congress MPs staged a protest inside the Parliament complex in support of protesting farmers and demanded that the three agriculture laws be withdrawn. Congress MPs raised slogans in support of farmers and their demands by carrying placards and hoardings.

AICC former Chief Rahul Gandhi in his tweet said that Union Government is adamant on falsehood, injustice and arrogance. We are Satyagrahis, standing here fearless, united. In his tweet he also tweeted that we demand to repeal anti – farmer laws using the hashtag #FarmersParliament, Jai Kisan.

AICC former Chief Rahul Gandhi said that Congress party has been demanding the repeal of the three farm laws. The farmers are alleging that these laws will end the mandi and MSP procurement systems and leave them at the mercy of big corporates. He also said that we will continue to support the farmers and fight for them till the end. The livelihood of 16 crore farmers, of whom 86 per cent are small and marginal, are threatened by the new farm laws. Former AICC leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress MPs of the party participated in the protest.
