Amit Shah Invites Farmer Leaders for Talks Today at 07:00pm

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah invited protesting farmers for talks on Tuesday at 07:00pm. The farmers associations, 24 political parties observed a nationwide bandh on Tuesday. The government is schedule to the sixth round talks with the protesting farmers on Wednesday.

Due to the impact of nationwide bandh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah invited the farmers to resolve the issue of the farmers protest on the new farm laws. The farmer’s nationwide bandh called by protesting farmers hit road and rail traffic in parts of the country, blocked many highways and shut down markets, affecting supplies.

Farmer’s leaders Rakesh Tikait told to the press persons, he received a phone call from Amit Shah to meet at 07:00pm today to discuss on the farmers issues. He said various representatives of farmer groups protesting on the highways near Delhi would attend the meeting. Opposition parties, including the Congress, NCP, Aam Aadmi Party, DMK and TRS, have backed today’s protest.

Farmer groups said they would not accept anything short of the scrapping of three new laws enacted in September, which they fear will reduce their earnings and leave them at the mercy of corporates. “The government suggested an amendment in all three laws. But the farmers’ organisations unanimously said all the three laws should be repealed.

The government assured that they can consider new laws on Minimum Support Price,” said Balkaran Singh Brar, a leader of All-India Kisan Sabha.Thousands of farmers are camping on highways near Delhi, blocking most entry points into the national capital, to protest against the laws.
