Government encourages sports: Y.S. Jagan

Amaravathi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy decided to celebrates “World Sports Day” on August 29th in the State, every year.

   Speaking in a review meeting on Tuesday, he said that the Government is going to facilitate, sports and athletes of Andhra Pradesh who clinched the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the International events with a prize money of Rs. Five lakhs, Rs. Four lakhs and Rs. Three lakhs respectively, he said. The A.P Government also decided to promote the sports in the state by providing amenities to the sport persons, he added.

   He also said that the winning teams with in the country will be honoured with a reward of Rs. 1.25 lakhs, Rs. 75, 000 and Rs. 50, 000 respectively for the positions of 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranks, he said.
