No Mediation on Kashmir Issue: Modi Clears Trump

Biarritz: Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly said to US President Donald Trump on Monday. He don’t want to trouble any third country on Kashmir issue. He met Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G-7 summit in Biarritz, France.

     Modi clear to Donald Trump that the issues between India and Pakistan were bilateral in nature and he doesn’t want to trouble any third country. He also categorically said that India rejecting any case for third party mediation by the US or any other country.

        US President Trump in an apparent climb-down from his earlier position when he had offered to mediate, and he also indicated he felt the two neighbouring countries could resolve their problems. Trump also said he and Modi spoke about Kashmir at great length on Sunday night. He felt both neighbours can resolve the issue on their own.

        Trump said that Modi felt the situation is under control. Speaking on India and Pakistan ties Modi said that both countries were one before 1947 and their can resolve their issues bilaterally through discussions. Both countries should instead combat poverty and other ills together.         According to the sources of Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, the 40 minutes long bilateral meeting Mr. Modi and Trump, that followed the publicity-allied comments focused only on issues of trade and energy and there was no discussion on Kashmir there.
