New law for women safety: culprits will be punished within 21 days: Y.S. Jagan

Amaravathi: Andhra Pradesh Government is going to bring a new law against the crimes on women in the Winter Assembly session. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said in the Assembly on Monday, that the accused who committed crime on women must be punished within 21 days or three weeks.

   We are going to bring a new law on these lines, to provide quick justice to the victim after the incident happen. He was very sad on hearing the brutal rape and murder of Disha at Shamshabad toll plaza on November 27th. Speaking in the Assembly, on a short discussion on the crimes on women and safety measures, he said that he think about these crimes, how to punish the culprits within a short time, when these types of crimes occurred in the state.

   He is having two daughters, one sister and a wife. He thinks as a father of a woman, no culprit will not spared from the punishment. We have all seen the conclusive evidence on the terrific incident of Disha, red handedly. The justice will not be delayed, he said. The Telangana Chief Minister KCR and the police officials, he hats off them for doing justice to Disha’s incident by encountering the culprits. He also said that the NHRC and other Human Rights personnel found fault of the action of the Telangana police is not correct. The people of all over India demanded immediate justice to the slain Disha.

   In some countries there will be shoot and sight orders on the crimes on women. But in our country we bought the Nirbhaya’s act in 2012, the same incident happened in New Delhi. The Government bought the act on the pressure of the public to punish the culprits within four months, he said. But unfortunately the Nirbhaya incident culprits are still living without conviction. The fellows who are committing crimes on women have no fear on the laws. The laws must be very strict to create fear in the culprits mind, when they touch the women they will die.

   Therefore, the Andhra Pradesh Government is going to introduce a bill on Wednesday in the Assembly on the crimes on women and safety. As per the new law the culprits must be punished within 21 days or three weeks. There is no delay in implementing the conviction. The Government also thinking to establish separate courts to hear, such cases on harassment on women and rape and murder and POCSO cases, he said. The Government also implemented the Zero FIR system in the state, to make immediate relief to the victims.

   The Government also reduced the consumption of liquor in the state and also completely eradicated 43,000 belt shops in the state for the welfare of women only. Most of the crimes women caused due to consumption of liquor, he added.

    He also said that there is a need to amend the cyber laws, which was posted vulgarly on women and other personalities. And also stop the porn websites in the internet, he said.
